Despite the informal appearance, Casual Look floors can be costly to produce, particularly in domestic production (Provincial Series).
To remedy the cost challenge and to offer alternative options, we keep stock of imported European Oak, Baltic, and French Oak, to enable offering Casual appearance at in fact a slight discount to Contemporary Look (Evergreen Hardwood).
We are committed to providing complete and detailed information to our customers. We believe that communication is the cornerstone of success; it is essential to developing the desired appearance and performance of any finished floor. We invite you to contact us directly for personalized service and consultation.
Blotching commonly occurs in ‘casual look’ or ‘Rustic’ graded flooring in areas where the wood grain is open at the surface thereby absorbing more stain than the surrounding areas. This condition most often occurs in patches where the grain direction is reversed such as surrounding knots or burls where branches existed in the tree. To avoid blotching, which for some is objectionable, considerable preparatory work is done to carefully seal the open pores. We must then use different stain densities to colour, before finishing with protective coatings.
Preparatory treatment and alternate staining techniques dramatically reduce blotching to provide a more consistent and uniform color.
